As an all-volunteer non-profit rescue, we would not exist without the hard work of our volunteers. The number of dogs we can bring into the rescue depends on the number of available foster homes and people to help transport them. We are always looking for new volunteers!

There are many opportunities with our rescue, including transporting, fostering, fundraising, grant writing, helping at events, clerical duties, and managing social media. Every animal’s journey relies on our volunteers.

TRANSPORT

Doberman Underground is in urgent need of transport volunteers to help move foster dogs to their temporary homes.

Every week, we rescue dogs from shelters, abusive situations, and abandonment. The first step in their journey to a better life is getting them to a safe and loving foster home. Transporting dogs is a critical part of this process, and we rely on volunteers like you to make it happen.

We need drivers in Lower Eastern Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, and Pittsburgh. Each transport takes about one hour of drive time. Whether you can help once a week or once a month, your contribution is invaluable. We coordinate with you to find times that fit your schedule. Any time you can spare makes a big difference.

Every transport helps rescue a dog and brings them closer to finding their forever home.

FOSTER

Fostering a dog can make a **HUGE** difference in the life of a dog in need. At Doberman Underground, we provide the dog, and you provide the love.

Fostering allows us to learn about the dog and place them in the perfect forever home. Many of these dogs have been homeless, abused, or neglected. For some, this is the first time they feel love and kindness. See the transformation and joy as your foster dog finds a loving forever home. If you’re not ready to adopt, fostering is a great way to help save a dog and experience the joy of making a difference.

What We Provide:

  • 24/7 Guidance: We are here to help you with any issues you may encounter.
  • Food: We’ll make sure your foster dog is well-fed.
  • Vet Bills: We cover all veterinary expenses.
  • Crates & Toys**: Your foster dog will have all the necessary supplies.

  • Care Until Adoption: Foster until the dog finds their forever home. We can’t predict when that will be, but your commitment is crucial.
  • Loving Care: Open your home and heart.
  • Transportation: Take your foster dog to vet appointments.
  • Event Participation: Help us advertise the dog at events, on our website, and through social media.
